COMMUNITY AFFAIRS, SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT & SECURITY

PACE operates an integrated Community Affairs, Safety, Health, Environment and Security (CASHES) program which is supported by individual policies and programs for each element. Since the program implementation, PACE, as an organization, is committed to making steady progress and to establish itself as a leader in CASHES performance with all its clients.

PACE CASHES program is intended to be used on all projects.

Full project specific CASHES program to accommodate specific requirements of specific projects will be developed and submitted during Project Mobilization.

GUIDELINES

PACE activities will be organized, planned and executed in such a manner as to:

  • Allow our community affairs to follow a proactive approach to communicate with the host communities. We will foster healthy longterm relationships with communities through observance of the highest standards of our conduct and develop mutually beneficial solutions to reduce the impact of our operations on the host community environment.
     

  • Protect and promote the health of our workforce as well as to conduct our activities in such a manner to not adversely affect any third parties. We will maintain a proactive occupational health program to identify and control any health hazards.
     

  • Avoid injury to any workers, subcontractors, and third parties, who are either involved in or are affected by PACE activities. We will maintain a proactive safety program.
     

  • Minimize the impact on the environment in which PACE operates. We will establish and maintain a proactive environmental program.
     

  • Ensure the personal security of the workforce and third parties from hostile actions. We will establish and maintain a proactive security program.

    Every PACE employee must plan and perform his or her activities in accordance with the CASHES guidelines. Any activity must be suspended when the employee believes that it cannot be carried out in accordance with the guidelines and must report this immediately to his or her supervisor.


OBJECTIVES OF THE CASHES PLAN

PACE The overall objectives of the CASHES plan is the continued improvement in the standards of community affairs, health, safety, environmental, and security. In order to achieve this objective, the company will promote CASHES awareness among its employees and will endeavor to identify and eliminate community disputes, health hazards, potential causes of accidents, control practices potentially damaging to the environment, and security hazards.

The implementation of the objectives will be initiated through training of personnel in all aspects of CASHES in the work place. Such training will be supplemented by regular CASHES meetings, by placing of advisory notices in suitable work related locations, and through regular CASHES auditing.

At all times, the company will work in compliance with the laws of the Government of Nigeria.

The objectives stated within this plan may be combined with new objectives at any time to include any new CASHES initiatives which may be forthcoming
